Welcome

Batala Portsmouth are a local band playing authentic Brasilian Samba Reggae music on the south coast and beyond. You can hear the band playing on Myspace. If you are interested in joining the band, we rehearse every Thursday evening from 6:45 to 9:30 at Charter Academy in Hyde Park Road, Southsea. Please email or call to find out more about booking the band for your event or to find out more about joining and learning to drum with us.

Now taking bookings for 2010

Our diary for 2010 is filling up. Let us know if you want us to play at your local event. Some of the events we are planning this year are new ones for us to play at which is great. Send us and email if you have any suggestions about events we should get involved with.

Please email enquiries@batalaportsmouth.com or call Chris on 07734 114550 to find out about booking Batala Portsmouth.

April Beginners Course

In November and December we ran a very successful beginners course and half a dozen new members finished the course and are playing with us now. We are hoping to run another beginners course in April 2010. We are also planning to buy more drums before the course as the band grows.

Send us and email if you want to be added to the list and come to the beginners course.
